We wish to advise that Ashcroft Construction have recently completed a very challenging 12-week project in Cockermouth, as Main Contractor, to carry out the extension and refurbishment of the existing BMW dealership in two phases. Phase 1 being the BMW showroom and offices, Phase 2 being the Mini showroom. The work was programmed to allow the dealership to continue trading from the Phase 2 building whilst Phase 1 was completed, and similarly on Phase 2. Some temporary accommodation was provided to allow continuity of trading and vehicle display areas and customer access was carefully planned and managedto ensure full segregation of contractor’s access, plant and equipment and the general public.
The programme was particularly challenging and the contractor showed tremendous commitment and enthusiasm, very much in apartnership type of approach, to completing the project on time, despite a number of significant client variations. There was some minor slippage in achieving the completion date but entirely justified in the circumstances. The contractor has performed well in eliminating post completion defects/snagging and we are considering them favourably for future work in our 2017 programme.
In view of our experience we have no hesitation inrecommending them.

Ashcrofts carried out the Demolition, Civil Engineering, Masonry, External Works and extensive 278 Highway works for me at the St Nicholas Gate Development in the centre of Carlisle. Despite the complexity of the works and tight programme dates Ashcrofts delivered on all fronts.
I have no hesitation in recommending Ashcroft Plant based on several contracts that they undertake for me over the years, the sites are well managed with consistent labour and supervision.
The contract was undertaken through difficult site conditions involving significant adopted roads and supporting embankments with heavy surface and foul drainage, good site supervision was key and delivered.Throughout the contract, they offered an open approach to resolving site issues with a keen eye on the cost implications without compromising the end product.
Ashcroft are currently employed as main contractor to carry out approximately £500k of work at our housing projects in the Egremont and Millom areas of Cumbria. A major part of the ongoing success of the project was Ashcroft’s dedication to providing a full time tenant liaison officer throughout the course of the works. Working closely with Home Group they effectively dealt with all manner of queries from our customers and the general public. Disruption was kept to a minimum at all times and we received communications from tenants commending Ashcrofts approach to the work and customer service in general. All Works were completed in a timely and efficient manner; therefore, we have negotiated further work packages with them due to their performance.
Ashcroft tendered for and were awarded a package of work to demolish multiple flats / houses. After completing the site clearance, the land was to be returned to a grassed area thus ensuring it was ready for any future development by the Home Group. They were appointed as main contractor and dealt with everything from erecting the temporary perimeter fencing on day 1 to the final grass seeding works. A well as the actual demolition operation Ashcroft also managed the safe removal of asbestos based materials encountered with the buildings and we believe they effectively managed to recycle more than 95% of the construction waste. As the works were adjacent to occupied dwellings, care had to be taken during the demolition phase to cause the minimum of disruption to the neighbours. Working closely with Home Group officers and other statutory bodies, Ashcroft implemented a programme of works and a methodology that ensured the works were carried out in an effective and safe manner. The works were carried out on time and on budget
Gents, once again I must congratulate you on an excellent performance on a very trying, difficult project, the level of coordination and your proactive Health and Safety strategy has been excellent and nothing has been too much trouble. Following the catastrophic flood of December 2015 you showed diligence in ensuring the areas were recovered with minimal fuss which certainly helped everyone pick up the pieces to commence the Construction phase of works Big thanks to Tosh and Alex in ensuring this Project has gotten over the line and I look forwards to working with you all again in the future.
Mark, can I thank you personally for the proactive approach taken during the Construction of Plot 7a, Westlakes Science Park, the attitude of all operatives under your remit in regards to production and Health and Safety was excellent, can you also pass on my regards to the Site foreman, Scott Burns for his excellent performance in leading from the front bring the last 12 months on Site, it's been an absolute pleasure to work with you all and I am ha pc to hear you have secured and commenced on the Workington Leisure Centre for ourselves on the back of your excellent performance for me here.
